Wills
Wills, inventories, and other probate records are valuable resources for genealogy research, as they can give information on the lives of their creators and identify other family members. The Metro Archives has a searchable index to wills between 1783 and 1924.
As time permits, we will also add the wills of notable Nashvillians,m some forgotten and some not forgotten. These records give an intriguing perspective of Nashville history, from the early days of the first settlers of the territory, to the antebellum period, and to the post-Civil War society.
