NPL at GMX

October 3, 2016

Geek Media Expo is a great local fan convention. The library will be there and you should come too. It will be rad.

Geek Media Expo (GMX) is Nashville’s own fan-centered celebration of geek culture. Besides being one of the best local pop culture conventions, GMX is an awesome family friendly Halloween party that lasts three whole days, October 28 through October 30. A few guests this year include Zach Callison aka Steven from Steven Universe, and Olivia Olson aka Marceline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time. I wish had cartoons as creative and enlightened as those when I was a kid. I had the ultra butch He-Man. But guess what ye olde kids—the guy that did the art for that show, Robert Lamb, will be there too. GMX also features a ton of other stuff to see and do: a cosplay contest, a lipsync battle, geek trivia, video games, board games, comics, fan-run panels, etc. Yes, it is rad.

And yes, the library will be there all three days signing up folks for library cards and giving away schwag. If you are reading this you probably have a library card already. If you don’t, sign up for one right now. Regardless, stop by the library’s booth at GMX and say hi. A few times during the weekend we’ll take over the library’s twitter feed and post what you geek at the library. Get pumped!
