It’s always a little disconcerting when inanimate objects become, of themselves, animate. How much more so when a statue seems to move or change its expression. Tonight’s story juxtaposes the life of a pair of happy newlyweds with the ghastly danger lurking in the environs of their happy home.
Our author Edith Nesbit is today remembered most for her authorship or collaboration on more than sixty children’s books, but it is worthy of note that she also authored four collections of horror stories, of which tonight’s story, “Man-Size in Marble” is one.
