Private Events at Main Library

Nashville's Main Library is the perfect special setting for your celebration, civil wedding ceremony, or business reception. The Library’s central location in the heart of downtown Nashville and its history of learning and literature make it an ideal venue for businesses and book lovers alike.

Ingram Hall Lobby

  • A spectacular, open space provides a grand welcome to all downtown visitors every day.
  • The lobby's elegant two-story room is topped by a bright, sky-like ceiling, overlooked by the Courtyard Gallery.
  • Ingram Hall has been the scene for public arts projects, City-wide Read events, and festive private receptions.

Margaret Ann & Walter Robinson Courtyard

  • An open-air civic space in the heart of downtown Nashville, modeled after Renaissance Italian piazzas.
  • Indigenous Tennessee plantings surround a striking water fountain.
  • Under starlight, the patio becomes a dim, peaceful outdoor area.
  • The Courtyard is the scene of the popular Courtyard Concerts. It is a unique stage for music.

The Memorial Foundation Grand Reading Room

  • The elevated view along Capital Boulevard provides a striking vantage. The grand balcony windows center the columned Tennessee State Capital, one of the library's architectural ancestors.
  • Greg Ridley's The Story of Nashville, an original copper-repousee art installation tops each book-case nook.
  • The original Reference area for Main Library is modeled after other U.S. city's grand, urban libraries, named along the ceiling.
